Jaquie is an early career textile artist based in Tarntanya/Adelaide, building upon a 25 year career as an Interior Architect and Graphic Designer, she is currently undertaking a Master of Curatorial and Museum Studies.
Jaquie’s approach to textile making references her architectural methodologies, employing traditional handicraft and rug making techniques in works speaking to contemporary issues and social contexts that inform our collective consciousness. Working predominately with natural fibres such as wool, felt and linen, Jaquie transforms these mediums through systematic sequences into geometric formations, inviting a visual conversation around conformity.
